PALO ALTO, Calif. – Jan. 9, 2024 – ASK Solar LLC, a student-led team from Stanford Online High School, announced today that it was awarded a $10,000 grant from the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) Be More Grant competition. Co-founder and CEO Sumedha Katakam represented the company at the grant competition in Atlanta, GA. The $10,000 will be used by the company to build a prototype that they plan to license to other solar companies.

“ASK Solar is feeling very confident from being awarded the $10,000 by the Be More Grant competition,” said Sumedha Katakam, co-founder, CEO and CFO of ASK. “This will enable us to build our solar panel supercapacitor that we can then use to demonstrate our technology and build industry partnerships. Next to our win at the Conrad Challenge in 2023, this is the next most important win for our company.”
